U.V. STERILIZATION PLANTS

As an alternative and, sometimes to finish the traditional disinfection treatments by chemicals dosing, the water sterilization may be carried out by U.V. rays.

The bacterial removal of the U.V. sterilizers is obtained by the irradiation of the water flow with a light intensity of 254 nm wave length, dimensioned to assure a light power always greater than 33,000 Wsec/cm2, in order to guarantee the total removal of virus, fungus, bacteria, spores, helminthes, moulds, etc.

The sterilizators are fully stainless steel and the water flows through pipes made of pure quartz, perfectly permeable to U.V. rays.

The plants are equipped with electronic feeders, time recorder to control lamps life, spy for presence of electricity, fusible plugs to protect all the apparatus.

The average lamp life time is 7,500 hours.

In order to assure the maximum of the sterilization, the water to be treated must be filtered to remove any turbidity which will create shadow cones and could compromise the action of U.V. rays.
