BIO-C® WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANTS
OF CIVIL DISCHARGES
FOR TOURIST VILLAGES
CAMP SITES AND HOTELS

Variability of waste-products causes considerable difficulties when operating a traditional waste water treatment plant system of total oxidization with active mud.
Proximity of tourist infrastructures and necessity of disposing purified water for bathing basins and/or sub irrigation, demands qualitative standards which can be achieved only with a flexible system, energy consummation included, and which is efficient for different requirements of utilization.
The BIO-C® system was created by the collaboration of Azienda Italiana Depuratori with the most qualified Swiss engineering firms, and it has been successful in more than a thousand functioning installations, considered the most trusted solution for seasonal consumers.
The BIO C® installation, completely covered by earth, fully integrates into the environment assuring the total absence of exhalations or bothersome noises.
In the BIO C® system the traditional total oxidization is supported with an aerobic waste water treatment plant process with self- selectioning adherent bacterial flora with activated carbon on a submerged expanded bed which cannot be obstructed and is self cleaning.
The process results innovative and reliable because the activated carbon works as:
- physical support for the aerobic bacteria and in alternative of the activated mud flocks, as extinct bacteria colonies, in the start up plant period and in the possible crisis periods;
- physical selection of bacterial flora, inside the activated carbon pores, obtained by means of their dimension;
- catalytic supporter in the presence of oxygen, to obtain the destruction of molecular chains not easily biodegradable;
- physical process as adsorbent, typically of the activated carbon;
- biological stabilizer as a lung for organic pollution, absorbing it, retaining the eventual excesses and giving it back to bacteria during the periods of poor or void presences, covering in this way the deficiency of alimentation.
The process results implicitly modular and has the capability to rise to answer any situation of organic and hydraulic load, with no problem and in a linear way, from the first up to the maximum inhabitants number.
